JYJ's Kim Jaejoong Releases 'I'll Protect You' For Protect The Boss OST

Yet another OST release from a JYJ member in a short space of time is like heaven sent for us JYJ fans who hardly get to glimpse them on TV apart from dramas and the occasional short feature on entertainment news programmes.

This round, Kim Jaejoong is set to melt fans’ hearts with a song titled I’ll Protect You for the drama Protect The Boss, in which he stars as Cha Muwon, a prince of the financial world. Hilariously, fans have come up with names to describe his character, the most famous one being Muwon-God!

The song is composed, written and sung by none other than the talented man himself, and I’m pretty sure fans go wild at the very news of this. Beautiful and touching, the track expresses a person’s desire to protect his loved one no matter what happens, showing how deep his love is for her. Do check out the English translations to this amazing song!

The audio clip has English translations for you to understand the lyrics, but do take the opportunity to listen and appreciate the wonderful composition by Jaejoong. Do check out the audio clip for I’ll Protect You here!

The author is loving the fact that Protect The Boss will be screened on ASTRO b.yond's ONE HD Channel 393. Looking forward to it already!

JYJ's Kim Junsu Releases 'You Are So Beautiful' For Scent Of A Woman OST

Recently, JYJ seems to have taken over the Korean silver screen by storm. First we have Park Yoochun starring in Miss Ripley as an hotel heir who falls in love with a girl who happens to be a big liar about her identity. Unsurprisingly, he released an OST song for the drama, a heart-wrenching piece titled The Empty Space For You.

Now it’s Kim Junsu’s turn to cameo in Scent Of A Woman, in which he stars as himself and also gives a mini concert to his fans. He also lends his amazing vocals to contribute an OST song titled You Are So Beautiful for the drama. His character is idolized by the female lead in the drama, and he serenades her while having a dinner session with her. What a lucky fan... how we wish we could be in her shoes, don’t we?

The lyrics of the beautiful piece will definitely touch your heart as it is a one’s confession of his love for his lover, and wanting to share her experiences, be it joy or sorrow. Here is the English translation to the lyrics of the song.

The music video only features Junsu at the opening, but somehow the drama preview that runs after it fits with the theme of the song. Do check out the music video for You Are So Beautiful here!

Here is another bonus for all Junsu’s fans out there: here’s the link to Junsu’s cameo scenes in the drama Scent Of A Woman!

The author is a huge fan of JYJ ever since she first heard them on Sungkyunkwan Scandal’s OST.

PS: Credits go to jyj3.net for the English translations of the lyrics and Junsu’s cameo scenes.

Aziatix Releases Latest Album Nocturnal

Aziatix, the Korean-American R&B trio of Flowsik, Nicky Lee and Eddie Shin, has recently released their latest full-length album. Comprising of 6 new songs and 5 previously released songs from their self-titled debut album, they certainly did not disappoint fans with their newest venture. Keeping to their formula from their debut album, Aziatix continues to churn out more great hits.

With music producer Jae Chong at the helm, Aziatix is not only creating waves in America, but in South Korea as well. On top of that, their total use of English throughout all their songs also created an international appeal towards their brand of music and they have managed to amass more fans in the process (I’m one of those many I-fans!).

The short Intro track is beautifully haunting, and is used in the teaser for Slippin' Away. In the teaser, Eddie can be seen falling into water in slow motion whilst the track plays in the background. The teaser was so captivating that it made anticipate the album’s release even more!

Slippin' Away, the title track of the album, opens with a Eddie’s amazing vocals which echoes throughout the track. Somehow I can’t get enough of the fact how the trio can blend so well together: Flowsik raps, Nicky sings smoothly, whilst Eddie’s vocals haunts beautifully.

The song tells of the experience of not being able to deal with a lover leaving. The lyrics goes “I don’t want you to go even if you’re telling me you’ve gotten over me girl, cos’ lately I realized without you I can’t live another day”. This song got me hitting the replay button again and again! Watch the wonderful music video for Slippin' Away here.

Superstar is a track laced with Autotune, yet managing to sound pretty decent. It’s a track that features more of Flowsik’s rap and it is the sort of song that winds you down after a night of hard partying. It is more similar in the vein of the previously released song, Another Day.

A Game sounds very much like a typical K-pop song at the start, especially with the synthesized beats, but what sets it apart from others is it has sort of an American feel to it somehow, maybe since Flowsik’s rap sounds very much like an American artist. I got addicted to the beat of this song after spinning it once.

Be With You gives you the feel of a boy band song, an easy-going song that also has hints of K-pop. It sounds pretty much like the previously released Go, but just a little more jazzed up.

Say Yeah, the last track, pretty much wraps up the whole album. It opens with a club beat that gets you swaying to it, and the trio’s harmonization will soon keep you “sayin’ Yeah Yeah”.

Pretty much I got what I expected of them, and I am glad to see that they do mix and match various styles in their songs as they have both slow and up tempo songs. Looking forwards to their next release already!

The author came across Aziatix while looking at the music producers for JYJ's English album The Beginning as they share the same fantastic and talented producer.

City Hunter: An Action & Thiller K-Drama

After watching the trailers and also reading reviews from K-drama addicts praising this City Hunter, I could not resist watching the series, what more after my ASTRO has been upgraded to ASTRO b.yond (yay, ONE HD here I come!). Other obvious reasons being the stellar cast of Lee Min Ho (Boys Over Flowers’ Gu Jun Pyo), Park Min Young (Sungkyunkwan Scandal’s Kim Yun Hui) and Lee Joon Hyuk (Three Brothers’ Kim Yi Sang).

Besides drooling over the hot men on my screen every Monday and Tuesday, the cinematography and plot of this drama is awesome and keeps me glued to the series week after week. It’s definitely worth every sen spent to subscribe to get HD quality as it enhances viewing quality (Oops, looks like I might switching over from KBS World then!).

City Hunter the drama is an original script based on the world-famous novel by Tsukasa Hojo, a renowned Japanese mangaka, in which the setting from Tokyo 1980 is switched to Seoul 2011. According to the original story structure, the protagonist becomes the City Hunter and his character develops while resolving gratifying cases.

Lee Yoon Sung (Lee Min Ho) is a talented MIT-graduate who works on the international communications team in the Blue House. He plans revenge on five politicians who caused his father’s death with his surrogate father Lee Jin Pyo and Bae Shik Joong, his sidekick whom he rescued when he was younger.

In his quest to track down the ‘Group of Five’, consisting of the President and several ministers and senators, he meets Kim Na Na (Park Min Young), a rookie secret service agent at the Blue House who is responsible for protecting one of the politicians he has been seeking. She is also assigned as his trainer in the joint programme where the international communications team takes judo lessons from the secret service team.

The chemistry between Na Na and Yoon Sung is undeniable though they try to act cool around each other. Yoon Sung creates a playboy image for himself to camouflage his ‘night activities’ as the City Hunter, and Na Na misunderstands by assuming that he is indeed one when he tried to make moves on her.

Since Shik Joong mysteriously keeps a photo of her which Yoon Sung talks to when he was lonely, he felt a connection with her since the first day he met her face to face and vows to protect her no matter what. When she was almost evicted out of flat and can’t afford to pay her comatose father’s hospital bills, he swooped in and rescued her.

Yoon Sung demands to stay with her in her flat which he had bought up, in the pretence that he owns the place and needs someone to cook and clean for him, but in actual fact wanting to keep watch over her to make sure she is safe. Soon after, she begins to suspect that Yoon Sung might be the City Hunter everyone has been looking for, and with whom she had various close encounters while on the job.

Will her guess turn out to be right? Tune in to City Hunter every Monday and Tuesday on ASTRO b.yond’s ONE HD Channel 393 at 9.00pm and to find out more about this shocking revelation!

The author loves the OST of this drama as it is also packed with powerful names such as Lim Jae Bum, Kim Bo Kyung (my favourite singer and song), SHINee's Jonghyun, KARA's Park Gyuri, as well as groups such as Rainbow, Girl's Day and Apple Mango.
