Cee Lo Green's Forget You

I first watched Cee Lo Green's Forget You music video when I happened to channel surf and landed on MTV. The catchy beat, cast and the background (an old diner) of the video caught my attention.

Young Cee Lo looked pretty convincing, and there was The Heartbreaker! She's just a little girl, but she sure can break a boy's heart!

Going through teenage years and college years, Cee Lo definitely had trouble forgetting The Heartbreaker. Funny and entertaining, I definitely think that this song and music video is unforgettable!

Here's the YouTube link to Cee Lo Green's Forget You, make sure you do check it out!

Sara Bareilles: Kaleidoscope Heart

Sara Bareilles’ sophomore album, Kaleidoscope Heart, released about a month ago, features the first single King of Anything, and is a brilliant piece of work from the singer-songwriter.

The title track, Kaleidoscope Heart, is a short one-minute slow piece that starts the pace for the rest of the album. Things start picking up on the second track, Uncharted, and you will start loosening up after listening to this.

Up next is my personal favourite, Gonna Get Over You, a catchy number which gets you tapping your toes and swaying your body to the beat. By the end of the song, the beat is so infectious that you will probably find yourself singing along!

Another gem in this album is a fun song, King of Anything, which Bareilles pokes fun at, possibly an ex, who thinks highly of himself. This track was featured on the 7th season premiere of CBS’ Medium TV series.

The rest of the album is filled with songs like Hold My Heart, Say You’re Sorry and Not Alone that reflects the emotions of the singer-songwriter towards her relationships.

Other tracks such as Bluebird, Let The Rain and Send Me The Moon are slow pieces that are suitable for a day lounging around the house.

The lyrics and comforting piano sounds of Bareilles’ songs are bound to amaze you after listening to the entire album. Two thumbs up from me for the multi-talented singer’s latest effort!

The author first fell in love with the singer’s smooth and soothing vocals on Love Song.

Cameron Highlands: A Cool Escapade

I have been meaning to write about my wonderful experience of spending some quality time to relax in the cool atmosphere of Cameron Highlands, and now I finally have some time to sit down and put my thoughts on display here.

In case you were wondering whether my opinion is biased in anyway since we all get awed by new places and experiences, I have been going to Camerons for the past four years straight in a row during the Hari Raya festivities.

Nothing has changed much, except for the increase in the number of tourists, and of course, tourist sight-seeing attractions such as strawberry farms and gift shops selling strawberry shaped souvenirs. I had a wonderful time waking up to the cool morning air and spending some time jogging around my apartment area while listening to my MP3 player. Nothing beats jogging in the morning, since you don't really break out in sweat after a workout session.

As for the food in Cameron Highlands, fear not that you will be subjected to eating an entirely vegetarian diet. There are many options to choose from as there are steamboat restaurants to small hawker stalls, the night market stalls, as well as fast food chains such as Marrybrown and KFC. They even have Starbucks, so for those tech-savvy people, you can still have access to the internet.

I found a good local food haunt named T-Cafe that serves a mixture of local and Western dishes. The ambience was cosy, and my, the food smelled so good that I couldn't wait to dig in as soon as the waiter delivered my order! The cafe is just above the Marrybrown restaurant in Tanah Rata, so locating it shouldn't be a problem even for first-timers.

At night, the only thing that was on my agenda was the night market. Here you have to stand firm and haggle with the hawkers to get the best prices for your vegetables, fruits, and the irresistible strawberry souvenirs. You name it, they've got it. The souvenirs come in the forms pillows, umbrellas, and even aprons!

For those who love having English scones and tea, make your way to the Bharat Plantations, Cameron Valley or Boh Tea Plantations where they serve you these sweet treats while you enjoy the wonderful green scenery of the tea plantations.

Looking for a place to escape from the heat of city life, look no further than Cameron Highlands where you are transported back to the English colonial times plus cool weather!

Taylor Swift's Latest Album: Speak Now

Taylor Swift is due to release her latest album, Speak Now, on October 25th, and I can't wait to get my hands on it!

The first single, Mine, is a heart-warming story of a couple who reminisce of their youth and romance, and this single has been on the airwaves for quite sometime. Speak Now tells of a story of a girl whose love is going to get married to another girl. Somehow this song made me think back of the movie My Best Friend's Wedding.

Meanwhile, Back to December was apparently rumoured to be written for Taylor Lautner, with whom she was involved with for a short period of time last year. The single Mean was also said to be written with the intent to hit back at her critics who were skeptical of her performance which they said was off-pitch, at the Grammy Awards alongside Stevie Nicks.

Her success with her previous album, Fearless, showed that this young singer-songwriter is capable of penning her thoughts and turning them into hit songs.

And unlike many of her peers, her music style is country pop, which makes her success even more sweeter, since country music does not receive heavy rotations on radio stations compared to other music genres.

I would personally like to see Taylor perform in concert on Malaysian soil! Hopefully she will be doing an Asian tour for her new album!

The author was smitten by Taylor Swift's Teardrops on My Guitar, and has been a huge fan ever since.
